Tiffany and Salma crossed paths at the Marseille Conservatoire, and it wasn't long before a friendship was born, nurtured by their shared musical sensibilities. Together, they imagined a poetic and intimate tribute to jazz, in piano-voice, wandering between styles and eras. This project is an invitation to escape, a dreamlike journey to the shifting frontiers of jazz.
Velours, velours - A kind of cabaret
Every Saturday afternoon, 38Riv transforms itself into a Havana piano bar, a hushed Harlem club or a forgotten Broadway stage. It's not just a concert: it's a lively, theatrical plunge into the golden age of jazz and musical comedy.
Imagine a vibrant tribute to the voices of Billie Holiday, Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. A timeless interlude between the pages of a Fitzgerald novel and the backstage of a New York cabaret, where people sing, tell stories, play and laugh.
‘Velours, velours’ is the elegance of a bygone era, the warmth of a shared moment, and the emotion of a story told through music.
