Nathan Mollet's music is an invitation to intimacy, carried by a piano that whispers as much as it explodes. At the crossroads of jazz, contemporary music and improvisation, he weaves a deeply alive universe in constant exploration.
The Farfadets trio brings together three young musicians in search of sensitive, sincere, and nuanced music. Led by Nathan Mollet, this project draws on the colors of contemporary jazz, the textures of instrumental pop, and the subtle rhythms of Latin music to create a universe that is both intimate and luminous. Without drums, the group explores a unique soundscape, where every silence counts and every breath takes on new meaning. Alongside Gabriel Zamora Cortese on guitar and Esteban Bardet on double bass, Nathan Mollet builds a repertoire of original compositions, guided by listening, depth, and the freedom of playing as a trio. Inspired by artists such as Pedro Martins, Lyle Mays, and Aaron Parks, Farfadets develops music of the moment, poetic and immersive, where influences intertwine without ever imposing themselves. A close-knit trio, fully asserting its identity, which is taking advantage of this residency at Le Baiser Salé to refine its voice and share a suspended musical moment.
Nathan Mollet's music is deeply personal, almost introspective. His fine, sensitive writing has been shaped over the years by a combination of intuition and meticulous craftsmanship. His projects, the fruit of long hours of research and piano playing, are born of a simple but essential desire: to create a sincere bond with the listener, inviting him into a universe where each note recounts an emotion, a moment, a breath.
Trained by the great jazz masters - Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, Hank Jones - and influenced by contemporary artists such as Pat Metheny, Avishai Cohen, Ben Wendel, Tigran Hamasyan and Pedro Martins, Nathan has developed a musical language that is both rooted in tradition and resolutely forward-looking.
From an early age, he improvised, invented loops and played with silences and surprises. For him, the piano has become a space of total freedom, capable of expressing both gentleness and élan, contemplation and audacity. With an ever-widening palette of nuances, he explores varied emotional territories, leaving room for the unexpected, the sensitive, the living.
Alongside jazz, his compositions are now open to other aesthetics: pop, electronic music, folk and alternative. His inspirations are manifold - from the Beatles to Radiohead, via Nick Drake, Saya Gray, Sampha or Louis Cole - and enrich a singular, hybrid and poetic sound universe.
During his residency at Le Baiser Salé, Nathan will be surrounded by musicians who will punctuate each concert with new colors. More than just a series of dates, this residency is conceived as a creative laboratory, a field of experimentation where sharing and emotion are at the heart of every performance.
