The French-American saxophonist first developed his sound and style in the United States—first in Boston, then in New York—alongside some of the biggest names of his generation: Jason Palmer, Warren Wolf, Walter Smith III, Darren Barrett, Kendrick Scott, Ambrose Akinmusire, Josh Evans, and others.
Since moving to Paris in 2015, he has performed alongside Melody Gardot, Sarah McKenzie, Mokhtar Samba, Joe Sanders, Jacky Terrasson, Leon Parker, and others.
The release of his first album, Escaping the Dark Side (Jazz & People, April 2019), featuring Ambrose Akinmusire as a guest artist, revealed to French audiences the stunning energy and spiritual dimension of his playing, establishing him as a leading musician in the making.
His second album, Holding On (Jazz & People, October 2022), confirms the intensity and coherence of his sound, with the support of legendary American drummer Gregory Hutchinson.
For this unique concert at 38Riv, Plume will be accompanied by Leo Montana, Gabriel Sauzay, and Antoine Paganotti. The group will perform compositions from his latest album, “Holding On,” as well as new pieces currently in development.
Part of the JAZZ SUR SEINE 2025 Festival.
Leonardo Montana: piano
Gabriel Sauzay: double bass
Antoine Paganotti: drums
