Skate 3001 is a daring encounter between Nils Josselin's guitar and Faniry Andrianarisoa's drums: an inventive duo with original compositions, blending jazz, soaring rock, and rhythmic freedom.

A guitar-drum duo, both minimalist in form and abundant in intent. With Skate 3001, guitarist Nils Josselin and drummer Faniry Andrianarisoa invent a bold, free, and surprising sonic playground. Composed exclusively of original pieces, Skate 3001's repertoire is the result of a year of in-depth work, begun as part of Nils Josselin's DEM (Department of Music and Music) program at the CRR in Paris. A young, burgeoning guitarist who has already performed in several key jazz venues, Nils's playing draws equally from the classical tradition, like Francisco Tárrega, and the modern soundscapes of Bill Frisell. At the crossroads of jazz, soaring rock and chamber music, his guitar becomes a complete instrument: at once melodic, percussive, textural. In dialogue with him Faniry Andrianarisoa, a Franco-Malagasy drummer very active on the Parisian scene, has distinguished himself in numerous jazz, groove and afro groups, with a rare rhythmic sensitivity and a communicative playing energy. Also a regular at Baiser Salé, he brings to this duo all his richness of interpretation and his sense of storytelling.
