A leading New York musician, Dan Block recently performed in Paris with the prestigious Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. A clarinetist and tenor saxophonist, he has established himself as one of the most refined specialists in pre-bop jazz. He cites Don Byas and Lucky Thompson, two masters of lyrical phrasing and sophisticated swing, as major influences.
For this occasion, he will be accompanied by the trio of Franck Amsallem, a long-time collaborator with whom he has shared many stages in New York. This transatlantic reunion promises a rare encounter between elegance, tradition, and spontaneity.
