Since meeting at Parisian jazz jams, Neil Saidi and Noé Codjia have continued to evolve together, always presenting new and original projects.

Returning from their trip to New York, they founded the Zoot collective with a single goal in mind: to reconnect with traditional jazz with an uninhibited and confident freshness. The quintet they present here is a perfect example of this.

Accompanied by the most swinging young rhythm section on the Paris jazz scene, their repertoire takes us back to the years of bop and hard bop. The two accomplices pay tribute to a form of jazz they cherish. Following in the footsteps of the Jazz Messengers, Horace Silver Quintet, and Sonny Clark, they in turn reel off their own original compositions.
