James Andrews And Nola French Connection
As part of the New Orleans Jazz Festival at La Goutte d’Or
Active on the New Orleans scene since the early 1990s, James Andrews — elder brother of Trombone Shorty and grandson of local legend Jesse Hill — has left his mark on the city’s leading brass bands, from the Treme Brass Band to the Junior Olympia Brass Band, before founding the New Birth Brass Band.
A true icon of New Orleans jazz, he has pursued a rich solo career over the years, collaborating with outstanding artists such as Allen Toussaint, Dr. John, John Boutté, and Kermit Ruffins, and even appearing in several episodes of the cult series Treme.
From 8 p.m., Le 360 Paris will come alive to the warm, brassy sounds of this legend. Surrounded by a Franco-American brass band, NOLA French Connection, James Andrews returns to Paris with the contagious energy and authenticity that make him an essential ambassador of jazz made in NOLA, ready to launch this new edition with festive, unifying rhythms.
