Mario Canonge Trio feat Arnaud Dolmen & Michel Alibo

   Jazz
As part of the festival: SHOWCASES EVENING JAZZ SUR SEINE 2025

Following the success of the second volume of his Quint'Up with Michel Zenino, Mario Canonge, a leading figure in Caribbean jazz, returns to the stage with an explosive new trio project. Accompanied by Michel Alibo on double bass and Arnaud Dolmen on drums, he offers vibrant jazz with Caribbean flavors, blending tradition, modernity, and pure improvisation.

Deeply inspired by Marius Cultier and Alain Jean-Marie, Canonge has established himself over the decades as one of the most brilliant French jazz pianists. From La Manigua to Ultramarine, from Dee Dee Bridgewater to Chico Freeman, his career has been marked by prestigious encounters that have shaped his unique style, nourished by groove and emotion.

In this concert, the trio revisits the pianist's greatest compositions with total freedom, capturing the very essence of live performance: interaction, tension, breathing silence, and flowing energy. A rare alchemy, forged through numerous shared performances and immortalized in an album recently recorded live at the Comptoir de Fontenay.

A powerful, intense moment, where Caribbean jazz is experienced live, with passion and generosity.
