An evening entirely dedicated to blues, the seminal genre that influenced all popular music of the 20th century, from jazz to rock, soul and funk. Born in the cotton fields of the southern United States, blues is at once a cry of rebellion, a song of sorrow, but also a space for freedom and improvisation. Legendary figures such as Robert Johnson, Bessie Smith, Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf laid the foundations for this musical language, which went on to inspire entire generations of artists, from Jimi Hendrix to Etta James, Eric Clapton, Janis Joplin and Nina Simone.

This week, François Constantin takes us on a journey with a Special Blues edition, a vibrant tribute to the essence of this visceral music, which has nourished all the great revolutions of jazz, rock and soul.
