As part of the festival: Place au Jazz in Antony 2025

Born in London to a British mother and a Bahraini father, trumpeter Yazz Ahmed draws on her diverse influences to craft a psychedelic and intoxicating jazz. Highly acclaimed on the London scene, she is the recipient of the prestigious Ivor Novello Award for Innovation (the UK equivalent of France's Victoires de la Musique) and has collaborated with the likes of Radiohead and Natacha Atlas. In Antony, she will present her latest album, A Paradise in the Hold. Blending her compositions with electronic music, she draws inspiration from Bahraini folklore to take us on an odyssey where mermaids, goddesses, and pearl divers intertwine. A remarkable musician at the crossroads of tradition and innovation!
