French-Taiwanese singer Estelle Perrault, who recently attracted attention with the release of her album “Promises,” combines her sensitive and refined style with the timeless elegance of Hugo Lippi, a leading figure in European jazz guitar. Winner of the Django Reinhardt Prize in 2020, Hugo Lippi has been making a name for himself for over twenty years alongside the biggest names in international jazz, from Michel Legrand to Melody Gardot, Christian McBride and David Lynch.
In this close-knit duo, voice and guitar intertwine in a hushed repertoire of revisited standards, intimate ballads, and nods to the American tradition. A moment suspended in time, full of finesse and emotion, carried by two artists with a strong lyrical style.
Cool jazz for quiet dreams
On Sunday evenings, at the end of the week, 38Riv slows down the tempo. Make way for the softness of cool jazz, with its clear lines, relaxed tempos, and hushed harmonies. Inspired by the legacy of musicians such as Chet Baker, Lee Konitz, and Shirley Horn, this series of concerts emphasizes listening, simplicity, and dialogue. A simple, precise moment, without frills—just the music, and what it can still say when all is quiet around it.
