| Jazz, standards
Ludovic Ernault on saxophone and Simon Martineau on guitar have been performing as a duo since 2020.
Their repertoire, a combination of standards and original compositions, reflects the essence
of a deep artistic collaboration, with a particular fondness for two major composers of the 20th century, Duke Ellington and Thelonious Monk.
In this alchemy of sound, silence and listening play a prominent role, giving their music a unique depth and sensitivity.
Cool jazz for quiet dreams
On Sunday evenings, at the end of the week, 38Riv slows down the tempo. Make way for the smoothness of cool jazz, with its clear lines, relaxed tempos, and hushed harmonies. Inspired by the legacy of musicians such as Chet Baker, Lee Konitz, and Shirley Horn, this concert series emphasizes listening, simplicity, and dialogue. A simple, precise moment, without frills—just the music, and what it can still convey when all is quiet around it.
