Two major figures in contemporary Afro-Cuban jazz: the Vistel Brothers, Jorge (trumpet) and Maikel Vistel (saxophone), originally from Santiago de Cuba. Between tradition and modernity, their music explores the deep roots of Cuban culture (Abakuá, Arará, Palo...) and fuses them with the energy of contemporary jazz.
Now based in Europe, they impose a powerful sound, both spiritual and rooted in groove, carried by natural virtuosity and intense fraternal dialogue. On stage, the trumpet and saxophone weave stories between improvisation, Afro-Caribbean heritage and modern textures.
Their latest project, ‘Fiesta en el Batey’, is a tribute to their hometown and its popular traditions, combining singing, percussion and avant-garde jazz. A rare evening, at the crossroads of ritual and musical urbanity. Between Afro-Cuban trance and contemporary inspiration.
