At this first Brazilian jam session of 2026, the drums resound, powerful and ancestral, like a call from another world, opening up a space of freedom, fire and improvisation. An explosive jam session led by percussionist Isaías Alves.
Born in São Luís, in north-eastern Brazil, a child of the drumming streets, he grew up in the popular festivals of Maranhão before taking his sounds to Europe, a cross between Afro-Brazilian traditions and the freest jazz improvisation, inspired by Tânia Maria, João do Vale, Hermeto Pascoal and Naná Vasconcelos, he weaves a living bridge between memory and invention.
Each jam session is a collective celebration where sounds seek and find each other. Maranhense jazz asserts itself as a unique voice, rooted and modern.
A unique opportunity to vibrate, create, listen and be inspired. The drums are already speaking.
