Salin

A revelation on the new Canadian jazz scene, Salin is a drummer, producer, and composer of Thai origin.
Four years after her first LP, Cosmic Island, she released her new album Rammana in March 2025, which blends Afro-jazz, funk, and traditional Thai instruments. She also incorporates elements of mor lam, a popular musical genre from the Isan region, which she mixes with contemporary influences, creating a unique genre that she defines as “Afro Thai Funk.”
On stage, Salin and her band deliver high-energy, often danceable performances, as evidenced by their latest KEXP session.
