Pierre Bertrand and his musicians have been playing together for quite some time now, which is obvious from the complicity, relaxed atmosphere, and mutual trust that reign within the group.

Pierre Bertrand's guitar style consists of intelligently probing and exploring phrases, often from surprising angles. It's a fairly intense approach but which contrasts nicely with Benjamin Boutant's fluid tenor saxophone playing, much closer to the lyrical side of the spectrum, combining rhythm and melody in a superb and appealing way. Sofian El Mabrouk, on bass, has many opportunities to show off his fingerpicking dexterity. As for Félix Joveniaux, the range and sensitivity with which he accompanies his three colleagues on drums is impressive.

With a very varied repertoire, they pay tribute to the great names Miles Davis, McCoy Tyner, James Brown, Shai Maestro... The mainstream is sometimes revisited, with seductive Middle Eastern rhythms, and the group has an assumed funky side.

A formidable quartet that clearly takes great pleasure in creating a festive atmosphere.
