| Jazz, musical traditions of Northern India
Naïssam Jalal has created a veritable laboratory of experimentation around her upcoming repertoire, Landscapes of Eternity, which will be released in April 2026. Through a series of original duets and trios with various musicians, she invites listeners on a profound and unique exploration of the soundscapes of Northern India.
Naïssam Jalal is one of the most powerful and essential artists in contemporary jazz. An exceptional flutist, intense vocalist, and visionary composer, she transcends genres and breaks with convention with a sound universe that is both deeply rooted in tradition and resolutely modern. Awarded the Grand Prix de l'Académie Charles Cros (2017), the Victoires du Jazz (2019), the Prix des Musiques d'ICI (2020), and the prestigious First Prize in Jazz at the International Songwriting Competition (2022), Naïssam has established herself as a major creative force. A Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres since 2023, she embodies uncompromising artistic freedom, carrying her message and her music to the four corners of the globe with rare intensity. A powerful voice, a fiery flute: Naïssam Jalal is not just a musician, she is a revolution.
Carte blanche — laboratory of freedoms
Since 2022, 38Riv has been opening its doors to artists in search of freedom. Four evenings, one stage dedicated to creativity, where emerging and established artists weave together new stories.
Here, people don't just come to play, but to explore, invent, invite, and share. Projects in the making, unexpected encounters, raw creations — so many precious moments to experience throughout the concerts.
Naïssam Jalal, Abdullah Miniawy, Camille Maussion, Richard Sears... voices that have already left their mark on this constantly evolving venue, awaiting the next ones to come.
