| Classics reinvented
When the great melodies of classical music are revealed in a new light.
Carried by improvisation, rhythmic freedom, and jazz harmonies, these familiar themes—sometimes majestic, sometimes intimate—take on a new, surprising, and vibrant dimension.
This project offers an original journey through the classical musical heritage (Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Debussy, Ravel), revisited with audacity and elegance.
Jazzics — Jazz meets classical
Le 38Riv celebrates the dialogue between jazz and classical music. A reinterpretation of the great repertoires, encounters between instruments from different eras, free improvisations: an event where boundaries are blurred in favor of a common language.
Conceived as a tribute to Vincent Charbonnier, founder of 38Riv and passionate double bassist, this program is in the spirit of Jacques Loussier's “Play Bach”: curious, inventive, free.
Thomas Choupot: drums
Gabriel Pierre: double bass
