| Standards, compositions
Thomas Delor (rated “4 stars” by Jazz Magazine, ‘elected’ by Citizen Jazz, “musician of the year” by Libération, etc.), a drummer renowned for his originality and atypical approach to the instrument, explores rhythms, melodies, and colors with great creativity. For this evening, he invites organist, composer, and arranger Laurent Marode, a prominent sideman on the Paris scene. Together, they will form a unique duo, mixing standards and original compositions in a rich and surprising musical dialogue.
Cool jazz for quiet dreams
On Sunday evening, at the end of the week, 38Riv slows down the tempo. Make way for the softness of cool jazz, with its clear lines, relaxed tempos, and muted harmonies. Inspired by the legacy of musicians such as Chet Baker, Lee Konitz, and Shirley Horn, this series of concerts emphasizes listening, simplicity, and dialogue. A simple, precise moment, without frills—just the music, and what it can still tell us when all is quiet around us.
