| Jazz, compositions
A French-Ivorian saxophonist with a unique career combining jazz and philosophy, Samy Thiébault has established himself over the past two decades as one of the leading voices in French jazz. Inspired by creolization, classical music, spirituality, and travel, he has built an ambitious body of work that combines introspection with openness to the world (Caribbean Stories, Symphonic Tales, Awé!). His latest project, “In Waves,” explores a more acoustic, poetic, and committed dimension centered around the ocean. Acclaimed by critics (TSF, Jazz News, Télérama, etc.), he performs on major stages around the world. Winner of the France Musique/Sacem 2023 prize, he is also a teacher and composer for dance, cinema, and theater.
Carte blanche — laboratory of freedoms
Since 2022, 38Riv has been opening its doors to artists in search of freedom. For four evenings, the same stage is offered to creativity, where emerging and established artists weave together new stories.
Here, people don't just come to play, but to explore, invent, invite, and share. Projects in the making, unexpected encounters, highly sensitive creations — so many precious moments to experience throughout the concerts.
Naïssam Jalal, Abdullah Miniawy, Camille Maussion, Richard Sears... voices that have already left their mark on this constantly evolving place, waiting for the next ones to come.
Léonardo Montana: piano
Damien Varaillon: double bass
Arnaud Dolmen: drums
