| Compositions
It all started with an invitation to play the simplest game, one that musicians on long journeys love so much: to imagine together a repertoire where everyone can contribute something, whether personal compositions, pieces by other composers, or the joys of the moment. A sort of shared photo album, an unusual travel itinerary full of surprises and detours. And immediately, a series of concerts gave shape to this self-proclaimed group.
These three come together for the love of sound, for a certain idea of the fleeting beauty that sometimes runs through music, for the joy of listening. For the joy of allowing themselves everything, of poring over poems together and bringing them to life. A rare trio with an orchestral sound, broad and full of finesse, spreading its wings in serene collective power.
Cool jazz for quiet dreams
On Sunday evening, at the end of the week, 38Riv slows down the tempo. Make way for the sweetness of cool jazz, with its clear lines, steady tempos, and hushed harmonies. Inspired by the legacy of musicians such as Chet Baker, Lee Konitz, and Shirley Horn, this concert series emphasizes listening, simplicity, and dialogue. A simple, precise moment without frills—just the music and what it can still tell us when all is quiet around us.
Paul Jarret: guitar
Arnault Cuisinier: double bass
