With Jazz à l’ECUJE Stories, the ECUJE is opening a new chapter in its anniversary season: a series of lively and inspiring musical conferences where journalists, musicians, and enthusiasts bring to life the great stories of jazz, between Jewish memory and contemporary creation.
To inaugurate this series, Alex Dutilh, long-time producer of the Open Jazz program on France Musique and an iconic voice of jazz in France, takes us into the heart of John Zorn's rich universe. A key figure on the New York scene, Zorn has been pushing the boundaries between jazz, rock, klezmer, and contemporary music for forty years.
From Masada to Radical Jewish Culture, this lecture offers a sonic and visual immersion into a body of work where improvisation becomes a spiritual language and Jewish roots nourish the avant-garde.
A meeting at the crossroads of narrative, music, and memory, rediscovering how jazz can be both an aesthetic adventure and a quest for identity.
