For this second event in the new Jazz à l’ECUJE Stories cycle, journalist, critic, and teacher Lionel Eskenazi invites us to dive into the luminous and inspiring world of Yaron Herman, virtuoso pianist and singular figure in contemporary jazz.
Trained in classical piano before turning to improvisation, Yaron Herman embodies a jazz in perpetual motion, nourished by Jewish culture, exile, openness, and dialogue. Between tradition and modernity, his compositions build bridges between worlds, connecting Bach to Radiohead, New York to Tel Aviv, the sacred to the intimate.
Through this sensitive and passionate portrait, Lionel Eskenazi explores the identity and spiritual dimension of jazz: how a music born of freedom becomes a universal place of expression, where each note breathes the quest for meaning and sharing.
A vibrant musical conference, where listening becomes a journey and jazz becomes the language of the heart.
