Mouratoglou Trio

Philippe Mourotaglou, a great classical guitar specialist, forms one of the most exciting and atypical trios on the contemporary jazz scene, along with double bassist Bruno Chevillon and drummer Ramon Lopez. Through sophisticated forms resolutely open to the spells of improvisation, the three musicians develop a powerfully organic and “fusional” music, sensitively exploring all the expressive potential induced by their choice of an entirely acoustic formation. From long, atmospheric sequences with a fairytale-like shimmer to intense bursts of fever, with constantly inspired solo statements emerging from the collective magma, their lyrical, abstract and sensualist music is one of the most stimulating of the moment.
