| Jazz, standards & compositions
With four critically acclaimed albums as a leader, pianist Jérémy Bruger - who has performed alongside Mina Agossi, Stéphane Belmondo, Jon Hendricks, Franck Tortiller, Baptiste Herbin - is forming a new trio in 2024. For this occasion, he is surrounded by an exceptional rhythm section composed of two of the most in-demand musicians: Yoni Zelnik on double bass (Avishai Cohen, Romain Pilon, Sullivan Fortner) and Donald Kontomanou on drums (Rick Margitza, David Linx, Yonathan Avishai).
The trio offers a delightful repertoire blending original compositions and reimagined standards. Drawing inspiration from both the tradition of jazz history and the new generation, Jérémy Bruger claims influences ranging from Herbie Hancock, Ahmad Jamal, and Bill Charlap to Brad Mehldau, Hank Jones, Aaron Parks, Marcus Roberts, and Benny Green, just to name a few pianists. His passion for jazz also draws from the worlds of Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, John Coltrane, Yusef Lateef, Duke Ellington, and Thelonious Monk.
This concert will mark the beginning of a tour across France. The trio's demanding formula and essential interaction promise a generous and sunny jazz experience.
