| Jazz, compositions
The alto saxophonist Plume has established himself on the international jazz scene as a soloist, composer, and leader. His lyrical and expressive playing, rooted in the Afro-American tradition while embracing contemporary influences, reveals a unique and deeply personal voice.
Trained in Boston (Berklee and New England Conservatory) under the guidance of George Garzone, Jerry Bergonzi, and Joe Lovano, he refined his style at Wally’s Café alongside Walter Smith III, Kendrick Scott, Warren Wolf, Darren Barrett, Jason Palmer, and Ambrose Akinmusire.
Based in New York from 2007 to 2013, he continued to explore his playing and writing, having shared the stage with Mulgrew Miller, Roy Hargrove, Greg Osby, Tim Warfield, Bill Lee, Eric Lewis, and many musicians of his generation, before moving to Paris in 2015.
Plume has toured with the groups of Melody Gardot, Joe Sanders, Sarah McKenzie, and George Burton. His albums "Escaping the Dark Side" (2019, featuring Ambrose Akinmusire) and "Holding On" (2022, with Gregory Hutchinson) reveal intense, spiritual, and decidedly contemporary music.
