Quartet XP – XP for Experience, of course – Magic Malik continues his journey into uncharted territory, where jazz reinvents itself with every note. A flutist with unique ideas and a curiosity about everything, he plays with sounds as others play with light: shifting shadows and revealing new colors. His flute speaks, breathes, plays, and sometimes bursts into flame, carried by the unique energy that runs through all his music. For this evening, he is joined by special guest Maciek Lasserre, a saxophonist and composer renowned on the contemporary and experimental jazz scene, who blends jazz, improvisation, and urban influences with unique creativity and international experience. At his side are three musicians who are as inventive as they are attentive: Maïlys Maronne on piano, Nicolas Bauer on bass, and Vincent Sauve on drums. Together, they build a space for collective play, where improvisation becomes a common language. We encounter shifting grooves, unexpected harmonies, bursts of melody that arise and then immediately escape. Nothing is fixed, everything is transformed—that is the very principle of the experience.

After a blazing live album recorded at Le Baiser Salé, praised for its freshness and spontaneity, the Quartet XP continues to forge its path: music in motion, both demanding and generous, to be followed with eyes closed and heart wide open.
