Born in Maceió, the coastal capital of the Brazilian state of Alagoas, Nyron Higor represents a new generation of Brazilian artists who are quietly reshaping the country's musical landscape. A composer and multi-instrumentalist, Nyron has established himself as a central figure in an extraordinary creative community flourishing in north-eastern Brazil. Alongside his Maceió compatriots Bruno Berle and Batata Boy, as well as artists such as Phylipe Nunes Araújo, from the neighbouring state of Pernambuco, Nyron composes music that pays homage to regional traditions while incorporating contemporary influences, arrangements and production techniques.
