It all starts with a candid, unadorned voice. That of Lucie Guillem, the singer behind the Nubë project. It was at the Didier Lockwood Music Center that she met guitarist Maxime Boyer and drummer Léo Tochon. In 2021, sharing a background in jazz, pop-folk influences and a close rapport as a trio, they came up with this ethereal universe: Nubë, meaning “cloud” in Spanish.

“Songs for Ananim” was released in June 2023. The group's first album traces a journey in seven

stages, including six compositions. Lucie Guillem's voice borrows from both English and

Spanish, immersing us in her intimacy: it deals with love, everyday anxieties, unanswered questions... The lyrics are accompanied by a band sound that oscillates between a dreamy atmosphere,

enriched by the backing vocals of the musicians, who also reveal themselves to be singers, and frenzied rhythms, without ever choosing sides. It is inventive music that leaves plenty of room for improvisation. Like a cloud in constant transformation...
