A saxophonist and flutist renowned for his boldness, Guyanese-Martinican Rodolphe Lauretta creates music marked by his diverse cultural backgrounds. Initially influenced by reggae and then P-Funk, over a career spanning more than thirty years he has developed a unique art of hybridisation, giving rise to a style he describes as “Creole futur-jazz”.

In a sophisticated harmonic and rhythmic trance, his music creates a dialogue between jazz and Creole music, soca, mazurka, futur-funk, hip-hop and broken beat, resulting in a powerful groove. This aesthetic is fully embodied in his Kreolia project, launched in 2021. The album, rich in memorable tracks, also pays tribute to Roy Hargrove and brilliantly revisits Alain Jean-Marie's Haïti. It is a cocktail of ultra-harmonic Afro jazz pop, without borders, faithful to the spirit of contemporary music.

With KREOLIA II, due for release in September 2026, Rodolphe takes the experiment even further and explores new territories where soca, mazurka and traditional music find a jazz and groove setting. A free and danceable musical adventure, presented here in preview by Rodolphe Lauretta accompanied by four brilliant musicians.
