| Jazz, compositions, new album
"From One Path to Another", Basile Rahola's second album, unfolds a breath of maturity, serenity, and deep complicity. Surrounded by Pierre Hurty, Wajdi Riahi, and saxophonist Matthias Van den Brande, the double bassist reflects on the place of man in a complex world.
Forged by years of sharing and osmosis, the music rises here in a quartet with a strong identity. The album reflects freedom and harmony, blending brilliant piano solos, the subtle and nuanced play of the saxophone, the precision of the drums, and the wisdom of a double bass that guides with inspiration and relevance.
La Jazz Station (Brussels) at 38Riv
Franco-Belgian encounters
On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, the Jazz Station, a true home of Brussels jazz nestled in a former train station, sets up in Paris for a week. The 38Riv gives it carte blanche, symbolizing a rich and vibrant Franco-Belgian artistic encounter. Concerts, discoveries, exchanges: the event promises to highlight the diversity and energy of the current Belgian jazz scene.
More than just a club, the Jazz Station is a place in constant motion where music breaks down barriers, reinvents itself, and is shared with all audiences. This collaboration is just one step in an ongoing dialogue: in 2028, the 38Riv will come to Brussels to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Together, they celebrate a musical friendship where jazz remains, more than ever, alive and unifying.
