| Modern jazz, new album "Invitations"

Led by saxophonist Florian Marques, the quartet PEAKS is releasing "Invitations" this year, its second album that invites us on a journey from the hills of Twin Peaks to those of Belleville, passing through the High Valleys of the Pyrenees and New York.
The result of artistic and human encounters, this new record, which highlights melody and improvisation, is designed as a dialogue between PEAKS and guest musicians with unique artistic personalities: Bojan Z on piano, Roman Reidid and Olivier Laisney on trumpet, and Fidel Fourneyron on trombone.

On this occasion, PEAKS will be in residence at 38Riv in 2026, for four exceptional quintet concerts with each of their album guests. This Wednesday, March 11, they will kick off this carte blanche with trumpeter Olivier Laisney.

Olivier Laisney has established himself as one of the most subtle representatives of his instrument, articulating a jazz culture influenced by Woody Shaw and the great hard bop trumpeters, as he has demonstrated within the Gil Evans Paris Workshop led by Laurent Cugny, with resolutely contemporary concepts that he explores at the helm of his projects (Yantras, Slugged), as well as within various groups of the Onze Heures Onze collective nebula, Stéphane Payen's Workshop, the Fanfare XP founded by Magic Malik, or Alban Darche's Orphicube, among others.

Florian Marques: saxophone, compositions
Thomas Gaucher: guitar
Arthur Henn: double bass
Corentin Rio: drums
Olivier Laisney: trumpet
