| Jazz, compositions
Led by pianist and composer Tony Tixier, The Poetry Syndicat unfolds a sensitive exploration of sound textures, opening spaces of meditative trance where minimalist melodies blend with enchanting grooves as if to suspend time. From this vibrant material also arises a deeply political song: a musical voice that seeks to dissipate shadows, break the constraints that separate us, and exorcise discriminations through the subtle power of collective poetry.
Tony Tixier
Tony Tixier is a French-American pianist and composer, trained in classical piano before turning to jazz and improvisation, developing a musical identity that blends composition and improvisation. At a very young age, he performed on major stages alongside artists such as Dee Dee Bridgewater, Marcus Miller, or McCoy Tyner, before settling in New York and becoming a permanent part of the international jazz scene. In 2012, he released Dream Pursuit with his American quartet, acclaimed by critics and named "Revelation" by Jazz Magazine.
Beyond jazz, he collaborates with Andrea Bocelli, Jon Batiste, Usher, Juliette Armanet, or DJ Deep, and works as a pianist on America's Got Talent and Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He performs in iconic venues like the Blue Note NYC, Jazz in Marciac, or the Apollo Theater, and composes with his brother Scott for Janet Cardiff at the Fondation Louis Vuitton. Tony Tixier develops a contemporary, expressive, and accessible music there, at the intersection of jazz, pop, and international variety.
