"Like a rainbow, the goddess Iris gave her name to this curious phenomenon called Iridescence.
We are talking here about the property of certain surfaces that seem to change color depending on the angle of view or illumination: soap bubbles, dragonfly wings, the plumage of some birds and butterflies..."

It is this multiplicity of colors and nuances that I wish to explore through this project. Iridescence revisits the sounds that have always influenced me: traditional dance music from Brazil, Colombia, and Cuba, but also Ravel, Debussy, or Bernstein, while keeping a central focus on jazz and improvisation.
For this quintet, I called upon Jessica Simon (trombone) and Lucie Jahier (flute), whom I met in 2023 during the Women In Jazz program led by Anne Paceo and Airelle Besson. It was a true musical and human crush: it was obvious to invite them to join this project.
Cédric Pierini (diatonic accordion), a student of my father, is a long-time companion with whom I share the trio Dekolaz since 2018. I have always admired his playing and sensitivity.
And of course, Léo Danais (drums), with whom I have been collaborating since 2016 in various projects such as CAM&LEO and Chocho Cannelle, accompanies me here in the creation and contributes to part of the repertoire.
