| Jazz, blues
At the crossroads of jazz, soul, and blues.
A demanding musician with a strong temperament, she comes from a gospel background and was part of Lionel Hampton's orchestra in the 1940s.
Her repertoire blends jazz, blues, and rhythm & blues, with many hits in the 1950s-60s, especially her recordings for Mercury Records.
Recognized in the biggest European clubs and festivals, Marion Chrétien made a name for herself with the famous Glossy Sisters and Shades Vocal band, with whom she has performed in over 500 concerts in France and abroad over the past 10 years.
She is now establishing herself as one of the prominent voices in the French jazz scene.
She has been heard on prestigious stages such as Jazz à Vienne, Crest Jazz Vocal (Jury and Audience Prize), La Nuit Jazz Magazine at the Trianon, the Tahiti Jazz Festival alongside Dee Dee Bridgewater, and the Tanjazz in Tangier.
