The trio first met on the stage of Sounds (Brussels) for an improvised music concert in the fall of 2024. They are celebrating at 38Riv the release of a live album from this initial concert, a testament to the affinity of their sounds and shared sensibilities.
Adèle Viret
Adèle Viret is a French cellist, improviser, and composer, a rising figure in the jazz and improvised music scene. Winner of the 2025 Victoires du Jazz – Revelation, she has made her mark with the Adèle Viret Quartet, awarded Jazz Migration, Euroradio Jazz Competition, and featured on major European stages. Their debut album Close to the Water (2024) has been praised by critics (Jazz Magazine, Jazz News).
Trained in classical cello in France and then at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, she has developed an eclectic path blending jazz, improvisation, and contemporary music. She collaborates with major artists such as Magic Malik, Fabrizio Cassol, Aka Moon, or João Barradas. Engaged in interdisciplinary and intercultural projects, she has founded several collectives and created for dance, theater, and the international stage. At the same time, she receives carte blanche invitations (Jazz Station, Bozar), composes, and establishes herself as a central artist of her generation.
