Very Blue Quartet

Four brilliant musicians, an inspired double bassist: Jean Bardy returns with Au Café des Anges, ten years after his duo with Hungarian pianist Emil Spanyi on Very Blue. This time, he takes us on a journey with a quartet... and a quintet on two tracks, with the magical touch of accordionist Marc Berthoumieux.

Jean Bardy weaves a world where jazz dialogues naturally with his first loves of rock and folk, all shot through with beautiful bluesy colors. On the program: energy, swing, but also a great deal of finesse.

We hear superb double bass intros, warm, enveloping sounds, a touch of melancholy that comes through at times... and above all, the simple and contagious pleasure of playing together, which can be heard in every note.
