André Ceccarelli Release Party – West Side Story

The energy of André Ceccarelli, the genius drummer, is coming to the Club! It all began in 1997, when this virtuoso made history with a musical tidal wave. But the spark goes back much further: as a teenager, he discovered *West Side Story* at the movies. The film’s aesthetic, passion, and above all its legendary soundtrack would stay with him forever. Decades later, this fascination gave birth to a masterpiece: his masterful interpretation of West Side Story, where overwhelming swing and breathtaking speed come together. Today, he returns with a live version at Le Baiser Salé, recorded during previous concerts at the Club. West Side Story is much more than an album: it is an ode to passion.
With an international career that has taken him from American stages alongside Chick Corea (1979) to tours with Dee Dee Bridgewater (1987), including his TRIO SUD with Sylvain Luc and Jean-Marc Jafet, André Ceccarelli has recorded over 1,000 albums! Collaborations with Stan Getz, Charles Aznavour, Claude Nougaro, Brad Mehldau, Tina Turner… and so many others.
For this exceptional project, the drummer has surrounded himself with exceptional talent: virtuoso Rosario Giuliani on alto saxophone, pianist Julian Oliver Mazzariello with his impeccable technique, Walter Ricci with his powerful and moving voice, and François Constantin, a master percussionist of rhythm.
