Hernán Jacinto, acclaimed by critics and audiences alike as the leading jazz pianist of the moment in Argentina and the wider region, presents his new album GARDEL with his trio. The album earned him the Best Jazz Album of the Year 2025 award (the highest honour in the Argentine music industry). Released on vinyl and digital platforms by the European label EL CLUB DEL DISCO (Barcelona).
The album features seven tracks from Carlos Gardel’s repertoire, reimagined through Jacinto’s refined jazz sensibility, via his arrangements, his boundless interpretative virtuosity on the piano and, above all, the energy and freedom of expression that emerge from his interaction with the musicians throughout each track.
The album moves away from the usual classical approach to the genre for this type of project. Instead, it tackles each piece with a more contemporary language, without ever losing sight of the spirit of each work by the ‘Zorzal Criollo’
