A modern, poetic, and introspective jazz project led by pianist Lisa Robert through her refined compositions and arrangements. She develops a distinctive musical language that combines sophistication with spontaneity. Her repertoire draws inspiration from contemporary jazz artists such as Enrico Pieranunzi and Fred Hersch, as well as from Brazilian influences including Milton Nascimento, José Miguel Wisnik, and Guinga.
Bringing Lisa Robert's captivating melodies and counterpoint lines to life are four talented musicians from the Paris jazz scene, who met at the Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood. The quartet creates a space for dialogue in which instrumental roles are constantly redefined. The trombone occupies a singular place, moving between melodic and textural functions, while the piano develops an approach that is at once lyrical, orchestral, and rhythmic, supported by a rhythm section that combines strength and subtlety. The voice appears occasionally as an extension of the instrumental texture, sometimes sung in Portuguese, reflecting the artist's Franco-Brazilian cultural heritage.
