On May 17th, the stage comes alive with a rare encounter between two musicians deeply rooted in the jazz tradition, each carrying a distinctive and contemporary voice.

On trumpet and vocals, Björn Ingelstam brings a magnetic presence. Originally from Sweden, he discovered music at an early age alongside his father, a trombonist, and began playing trumpet at just 11. Despite his young age, he quickly established himself on the European jazz scene thanks to his powerful sound and deeply personal expression. Moving effortlessly from swing to bebop, through hard bop, Latin rhythms, and even folk influences, he blends his roots in traditional jazz with a modern approach and a strong love for memorable melodies. A sought-after soloist and bandleader, he now performs ברח the world, captivating audiences both as a trumpeter and a singer.

At the piano, Bastien Brison brings remarkable elegance and harmonic depth. Born in Roanne, he began as a self-taught musician, accompanying local choirs before continuing his studies at the conservatory in Chalon. He later settled in Lyon, where he built his professional career. His playing reflects the influence of great pianists such as Bill Charlap, Kenny Barron, Mulgrew Miller, Hank Jones, Keith Jarrett, and Ahmad Jamal. He has performed on numerous festival stages (Fort en Jazz, Jazz à Grenoble, Cavajazz, Jazz at the Péristyle of the Lyon Opera…) and is a regular presence on the Lyon jazz scene. A formative trip to New York led him to play with internationally renowned jazz musicians. His music combines strength and softness, rhythmic subtlety, moments of suspension, and unexpected shifts.
