Carte Blanche To Jeanne Michard

Jeanne Michard, a saxophonist and composer, winner in the "Revelation" category at the 2023 Victoires du Jazz with two critically acclaimed albums, is now firmly established in the French jazz scene. Both a bandleader and a sideman, she shares the stage with, among others, Rhoda Scott, Emile Londonien, Hugh Coltman, as well as with several collectives, such as the Paris Jazz Sessions, the Zoot Collective, Déluge... all of whom are active and recognized musicians on the French and international jazz scene. She also ventures into the electro/hip hop scene by joining the Chinese Man team in 2025. As an interpreter and composer, her collaborations lead her to write and arrange for various ensembles ranging from quintets to big bands and brass bands. In 2025, she delves into the electro groove scene with new creative projects. In search of new sounds and encounters, she works on a repertoire with electronic and saturated accents, transitioning from a trans-rock atmosphere to a floating universe on synthesizer pads. Le 38 Riv gives her carte blanche to present this creation for the first time, which she will experiment with on three dates with three different teams specially brought together for these occasions.
