The Franc Connection Quintet

Acclaimed by critics since the 1970s and a recipient of the Académie du Jazz’s “Sidney Bechet Prize”—having also shared the stage in Marciac with the legendary Wynton Marsalis—the saxophonist returns with his new quintet, "Franc Connexion," formed alongside his son, Jean-Baptiste, on piano.

His mastery of the soprano saxophone and his inimitable swing make him the finest heir to Sidney Bechet, and it is with Bechet’s own saxophone that Olivier Franc takes the stage.

Drawing inspiration from the greatest standards of Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet, and Duke Ellington, they present a 100% original program that seeks to reclaim classic jazz as a source of creativity rather than merely a way to mine the repertoire of the past.
