#Rdv Avec... Jorge Vistel – Cuban Afro Modern

Cuban jazz in motion—raw, elegant, and electrifying. A quarterly event with Jorge Vistel where the energy of Afro-Cuban music, the freedom of modern jazz, and the urgency of improvisation converge.

A magnetic trumpeter and a regular on international club and stage scenes, Jorge Vistel has for several years established a distinctive style: a dense sound and a sharp musicality.

Here, the Afro-Cuban tradition never stands still. It flows, explodes, and transforms. Rhythms interact with contemporary harmonies, lines tighten, and improvisations ignite. For each performance, a new band, guests from the Parisian and international scenes, unexpected dialogues, original compositions that evolve over the course of the concerts, and improvisations that blur the boundaries between Afro-Cuban, modern jazz, and contemporary Afro-Caribbean music.

A regular on club stages and major international venues, Jorge Vistel possesses a rare stage presence, a powerful sound, constant energy, and a way of breathing life into the Afro-Cuban tradition within a thoroughly contemporary aesthetic.
