Lembe Lokk "Songs Of Leonard Cohen".

“Wild, powerful, organic—these are just a few of the adjectives that describe Estonian singer Lembe Lokk’s tribute project to Leonard Cohen. Accompanied by two fantastic musicians—who are regulars on the jazz, pop, and traditional music scenes (François Puyalto on bass and Michel Schick on clarinets)— Lembe Lokk reimagines Leonard Cohen’s repertoire by stripping his songs down to their bare essentials, with a very pure sense of sound and raw emotion. The music oscillates between folk, jazz, and pop. An original and deeply moving tribute, marked by its precision.”

Since 2017, Secret Chords – Songs of Leonard Cohen has been carving its own path through Leonard Cohen’s body of work. About a hundred concerts in France and abroad have gradually shaped this unique trio, in which Lembe Lokk’s voice, François Puyalto’s bass, and Michel Schick’s clarinets reinterpret the songs to reveal their strength, humor, sensuality, and poetry.

Since the start of the 2022 season, the Sunset has become one of the prime venues for this adventure. The trio is now beginning its fifth season as residents there, following four years marked by artistic encounters and collaborations that have allowed this repertoire to constantly reinvent itself.
