Philharmonie de Paris

The Philharmonie de Paris is the new musical heart of the capital. The new building was designed by architect Jean Nouvel. Beside it is the complex which until now has been called the Cité de la Musique, designed by architect Christian de Portzamparc. During the day, attractions include the Musée de la Musique and its temporary exhibitions. In the evening, music lovers can opt for a concert at one of the three concert halls. One of the most impressive, the Grande Salle with its exceptional acoustics, can host up from 2,400 to 3,600 people. The Philharmonie de Paris proposes a musical season including all types of music (from classical music to contemporary, passing through jazz and world music). Each year, the Philharmonie de Paris produces the Jazz à la Villette Festival.
