Lauren Henderson's voice is described as "somewhere between a comforting whisper and a cogent declaration" by The New York Times. Uncovering the layers of her diverse background in English and Spanish, her compositions paint stories. Henderson's Panamanian, Montserratian, and vast Caribbean roots interplay with her North American upbringing. Her eclectic vocal influences spread across genres producing a distinct yet versatile sound.
Lauren's original music was recently featured in The Drowning, starring Julia Stiles, Avan Jogia, Josh Charles and Tracie Thoms.
Appealing to an international audience, Henderson has performed in France, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Russia, Mexico and South Africa, living up to her growing reputation as a "vibrant new star singer" - Downbeat Magazine.
Breaking the Jazz Week Charts - Top 25 for six consecutive weeks and the Year End Jazz Week Top 100 for 2018, Henderson's current release, Alma Oscura, is 22 on the Jazz Week Charts
