Olivier Gay, Small Ensemble

Formed at the initiative of Olivier GAY, trumpet player and composer of the group, this quintet is made up of young musicians recognized from the French jazz scene (Pierre Perchaud was among others awarded at the Victoires de la Musique Jazz with his band "Fox") . Influenced primarily by New York musicians such as Ambrose Akinmusire, Dave Douglas, Tom Harrell or Ralph Alessi, his compositions take us into a variety of musical worlds ranging from rock binary rhythms to more afro / ternary atmospheres, leaving plenty of room for action. improvisation and creation ... The quintet has performed in various festivals and high places of French jazz. He records his first album in 2019.
