Aya Ishida Quartet

Aya Ishida is a New York based vocalist and composer. Originally from Japan, she moved to NYC in 2013 to pursue a music degree at City University of New York City College. After arriving in New York, Aya took her talent to new heights by studying with such masters as Steve Wilson and Carolyn Leonhart (just to name a couple). Now she performs regularly with a wide range of musicians in NYC and Asia. In 2018, she released her debut album “Day by Day” having Grammy award winning saxophonist Wayne Escoffery as a producer. It includes her favorite jazz standards with her arrangements and her original compositions singing about her struggles from chasing dreams in NYC. With a soulful voice and an energetic heartfelt performance, she always captivates the audience.
