As part of the festival: Jazzenville 2019

An Israeli bassist, singer and composer, Avishai Cohen travels the roads of France and launches the festivities of the 2019 edition of Jazzenville. With his style mixing jazz, classical music, world beats and Israeli-Latin rhythms, Avishai Cohen is considered one of the hundred most important bassists of the twentieth century. This jazzman, atypical course, began playing the piano before turning to the bass. Emigrating to the United States in 1992, he was noticed by Chick Corea, a member of Miles Davis' group in the 1960s, who took him under his wing. In 1998, he signed his first album Adama. Then follow the successes, always in jazz sounds. His latest album, 1970, released in 2017, marks an artistic turning point for Avishai Cohen, who explores new, more accessible, more pop tones. Singing in English, Hebrew and Ladino, Avishai Cohen continues to surprise us.
